It's always fun to serve a signature cocktail and to mix things up and try something unexpected.
To us, pear is a wonderful flavor and it "pairs" really well with tequila and cilantro.
Throw in some bright linens & it transforms into a festive alternative signature cocktail.
We have to admit on finding this one in Food & Wine's Ultimate Cocktail Guide and of course, we had to serve it up in the studio making sure the flavors were just right.
The recipe & many more can be found on F&W's site.
Just so you don't have to go anywhere we have it right here. Recipe after the jump.
Festive Pear Margarita
- 1-ounce reposado tequila
- 1-ounce pear nectar or juice
- 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
- 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
- 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon chopped cilantro, plus 1 small cilantro sprig for garnish
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Add all of the ingredients except the cilantro sprig and shake well.
Pour into a chilled margarita glass and garnish with the cilantro sprig.
**Bonus Party Tip**
When serving cocktails provide small bowls filled with fresh herbs such as cilantro, basil and mint along with fresh berries, lemons, limes & orange wedges so guests can experiment with making their own cocktail flavors.
It's always fun to watch the expressions when a friend finds a new flavor combination they think is amazing!
It's also a nice touch to have cans of seltzer & fresh juice on hand for friends that aren't drinking for the night.
This way they can still mix in flavors and feel festive with a pretty drink in hand!
